Your facility houses inputs, planning & inventory systems, environmental controls, complex manufacturing, assembly, packaging processes, and staging for outbound finished goods. The value chain within must be kept dry, tight – and secure.
Manufacturing Facility roof projects are complex, with many elements that can influence the cost, project timeline, and how potentially disruptive the project will be. Building height, accessibility, scope, and the installed system type all add to this complexity.
Our industry experts can design a solution for your facility or work with your architect, engineers, and other contractors to ensure the best total solution.
Our project managers arrive at project kick-off meetings with your facility directors informed, experienced, and prepared – simply because we specialize in this work.
Because of our extensive experience with these types of systems, we understand what’s going on under the roof and what’s traveling across the roof, informing the roof system design.
Roofing projects in this space are often procurement-driven. The sourcing response team at NU-TEK works with procurement-issued RFPs, souring technologies, and bidding processes every day. More than that, we are a trusted resource to many, helping assess or develop sourcing documents. We maintain B2B supplier relationships through multiple purchasing platforms: ISN, Ariba Network/SAP Business Network, Carrigo Pro, and Aveta.
Manufacturing facilities often require multiple roofing solutions with administrative offices, labs, and ambient and refrigerated areas on a single site. Understanding heating and cooling and how that will affect roof systems requires experience and strong industry ties.
NU-TEK Roof Systems is a well-established company with an outstanding safety record. Based on our commitment to job site safety, we are proud to have what is considered to be a superior experience modification rating on our policy.
We currently have a .78 credit modification on our workers’ compensation insurance.
Our low EMR means that because of our outstanding claim history, we enjoy a relationship with insurance companies and safety-focused organizations that few roofing companies achieve and serves as evidence of our above-average focus on safety and protection.
The team at NU-TEK works with your engineering team to understand air flow, temperature control, sanitation, and security needs. Together, we will develop a roof system design for each facility’s specific requirement, providing the right system or systems based on the under-roof usage. Our solutions are cost-effective and fully compliant.
Nu-Tek works with many clients and participates in the design process as much or as little as needed to ensure the project’s success. However, our project managers ensure that the design meets building codes and other regulations.
Once the design is complete, Nu-Tek uses the information from construction drawings and documents to create a bill of materials that will specify the required materials and labor.
Managing the complexity of manufacturing facility designs requires a detailed and well-tested planning process, beginning with the Phasing Plan. This document outlines the anticipated daily work area for coordination with building management and occupants.
The phasing plan details the days and times that have the most significant impact on building users, such as when the roof is being actively removed overhead or when concrete drilling for mechanical anchors is taking place.
The Phasing Plan is co-developed with your engineering and operations teams, gathering input from all and allowing for careful planning of inventory moves, enhanced sanitation, and equipment protection.
Following the phasing plan, the team at NU-TEK will work with your regulatory and site safety team members to develop the Safety Plan. The safety plan documents building access, organizational safety procedures, fall protection, personal protection, occupant protection, stock and equipment protection, and public protection across the project.
Finally, we will develop the Staging Plan based on phasing and safety planning output. This document defines employees’ access to the roof, the location of roofing equipment, inbound roofing materials, and the staging areas for toilets, chutes, dumpsters, cranes, or other significant on-site elements.
Your assigned project manager will provide a detailed project timeline, budget, quality, and risk report. Your team will be included in inspections and walk-throughs and confirm that the work is being done according to your expectations.
Preconstruction
During the preconstruction phase NU-TEK, we assign the project manager – depending on the project scope, we may bring the project manager in earlier. Next, we select the Production Team & Crew – the Nu-Tek team includes a production coordinator, who supports the project manager, and a superintendent to keep everything on schedule regarding the materials, deliveries, and equipment. Then, we assess the job site – the field team conducts a site analysis to understand the social, climatic, and demographic variables that might affect the project.
Nu-Tek leverages our strategic relationship with manufacturers and distributors to purchase materials and equipment at lower costs than most organizations.
Our roofing crews are OSHA 30 trained by OSHA 500 Outreach Trainers in our house. They are compliant with all security protocols, compliance, and sanitation requirements.
We match our tenured, E-Verified, 100% background checked, and drug-tested crews to the job.
Nu-Tek will host a preconstruction meeting to align work hours, the storage of materials, quality control, and site access; we will create a payment schedule and a process to deliver payments and review work orders with crews.
After the installation, Nu-Tek reviews the job with the project team, ensuring all requirements have been met.
Our proven project management process controls the most common risk areas:
Large, complex roofs require partners with large crews and experience managing them. We are efficient and can provide highly detailed, goal-oriented roofing solutions at the right price. Our project management process limits post-initiation surprises.
